Recap: New Prairie Cougars vs. Mishawaka Marian Knights
The New Prairie Cougars put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mishawaka Marian 51-17 at home. The result was nothing new for New Prairie, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Prairie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Flagg, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Flagg's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan White, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
New Prairie pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mishawaka Marian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Prairie will take on South Bend Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (South Bend Washington is ranked 30th, while New Prairie is ranked 33rd). As for Mishawaka Marian, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend Riley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Bend Riley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
