The McKenzie Rebels will challenge the Union City Golden Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McKenzie took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for McKenzie considering their one-goal performance the contest before.
Their offense was hitting Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Aiden Mason led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.
Meanwhile, Union City got the win against Clarksburg on Friday by a conclusive 9-0.
McKenzie has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those nine matchups. As for Union City, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8-1.
