Recap: Lowell Red Devils vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

After a string of six wins, the Lowell Red Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hanover Central. Lowell lost against Hanover Central in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-34 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Lowell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kirstin Summers. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Mielczarek, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.

Hanover Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sienna Stilley led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Bridget Noel was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Lowell bumped their record down to 6-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.33 points. As for Hanover Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Lowell will be playing at home against Crown Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Crown Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Hanover Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Kouts at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kouts is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
