Softball Recap: Ballard Bruins vs. Marion County Knights
Ballard can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Marion County Knights. Winning may never get old, but Ballard sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Rylee Carter made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Carter has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Carter was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kierstyn Smith was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Mikayla Milby was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.
On Marion County's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
