Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence Gets the Win

St. Laurence had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Stagg Chargers on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Chargers on April 5th, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Laurence got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Matthew Suchecki, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs he has posted since April 1st.

St. Laurence's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Stagg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

St. Laurence will venture away from home to face off against Montini Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stagg, they will host Lincoln-Way West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
