Softball Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

Harrison fell victim to Carmel and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lilly Kiefer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Carmel, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will challenge Lafayette Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Carmel, they will face off against Greenfield-Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
