Basketball Recap: Cloverdale Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cloverdale can now relate to. They fell to the Orland Trojans 65-61. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cloverdale still got an impressive performance from Amara Galvan, who posted 31 points and five boards. The game was Galvan's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ronni Hatcher, who scored nine points and eight rebounds.

Orland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lillianna Rowe led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dottie Davis, who had ten points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Cloverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Orland, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8.

Cloverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orland, they will challenge Encinal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
