Baseball Recap: Sandusky Comes Up Short

Sandusky extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 14-10 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garber Dukes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dukes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Monday.

Nathan Ball made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Garber, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Garber's side, Colton Jacobs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Brey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Sandusky will challenge Memphis at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garber, they will take on Glenn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
