Basketball Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fredericksburg V

St. Michael the Archangel scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 61-40 to the Fredericksburg V Victory. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Victory apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, St. Michael the Archangel still got an impressive performance from Janaye Martinez, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 boards. Martinez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 41 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Love-Villatoro, who posted ten points.

St. Michael the Archangel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Fredericksburg V and bumps their season record up to 8-15.

After both having extra time off, St. Michael the Archangel and Grace Prep will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on March 7th. Fredericksburg V does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
