Recap: Vail Mountain Gore Rangers vs. Aspen Skiers
The Vail Mountain Gore Rangers suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-25 loss at the hands of Aspen. Vail Mountain has not had much luck with Aspen recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Vail Mountain got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Christian Mills and
Hunter Iverson, who each put up six points.
Aspen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Hurd out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tommy Franceschi, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Vail Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Aspen, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vail Mountain will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Meeker at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th. Meeker is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Aspen, they will head out on the road to take on Coal Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coal Ridge is on a three-game streak of home wins, Aspen a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
