Softball Recap: Soddy Daisy Comes Up Short

Soddy Daisy lost against Boyd-Buchanan back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans fell 8-5 to the Buccaneers.

Abby Faires made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Skylar Gooden, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Soddy Daisy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12-1. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Soddy Daisy will look to defend their home field on Saturday against East Hamilton at 10:00 a.m. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cleveland at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
