Volleyball Recap: Fountain Valley Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Fountain Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Monument Academy Lynx on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Danes also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fountain Valley took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-7, 25-2.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fountain Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Nunez-Alley, who had 11 assists and nine aces. Those nine aces gave Nunez-Alley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsley Joseph, who had nine aces and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Fountain Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 38 aces. They are 3-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Fountain Valley pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Monument Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Fountain Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Pueblo Central on the 27th. As for Monument Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Thomas MacLaren School on the 30th.
