Baseball Game Preview: Henry Hudson Admirals vs. Long Branch Green Wave

The Henry Hudson Admirals will face off against the Long Branch Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Henry Hudson will be strutting in after a victory while Long Branch will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Henry Hudson made easy work of Asbury Park and carried off a 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Admirals.

Teddy Fariello made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Fariello was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Ortore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Erick Rodriguez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Long Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-5 to Freehold Boro.

Long Branch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Torres, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Noah Hoogmoed, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Henry Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Long Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Henry Hudson took their win against Long Branch in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. Will Henry Hudson repeat their success, or does Long Branch has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
