Volleyball Recap: Grand Junction Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past + How To Watch

Grand Junction Central's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grand Junction Tigers by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

Grand Junction Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-22.

Leading Grand Junction Central to victory were Delany Nostrand and Jasmine Rushing. Nostrand had 12 digs and three assists, while Rushing had 14 digs. Nostrand is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Grand Junction Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Grand Junction saw an underclassman step up: freshman Haleigh Blaylock had 11 assists and eight digs. Rylee Fisher also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

The victory snapped Grand Junction Central's losing streak at six matches and leaves them with a 3-8 record. As for Grand Junction, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
