Evansville Central had won ten straight home games and Madalynn Shirley did her part to make it 11 on Saturday. The Evansville Central Bears walked away with a 65-58 win over the Corydon Central Panthers thanks in part to Shirley, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. Her afternoon made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Olivya Hile, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 16 points and eight boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played.

Corydon Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Murphy, who posted 17 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Josie Vaughn, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Evansville Central is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Corydon Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.

Looking ahead, Evansville Central will challenge Greensburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greensburg will roll in looking for their 25th straight victory, something Evansville Central surely won't give up without a fight. Corydon Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
