Basketball Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. The Gregory School Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Desert Christian Eagles will jump right back in to play The Gregory School Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Desert Christian comes in on four and the Hawks on 14.

On Friday, Desert Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Warriors, but they still walked away with a 58-53 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Dobbins, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Dobbins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Jonathan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, The Gregory School can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Ray 79-37 at home. Given The Gregory School's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Bearcats are ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Desert Christian's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for The Gregory School, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.

Desert Christian came up short against the Hawks in their previous matchup last Friday, falling 65-54. Can Desert Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
