Football Game Preview: Anderson County Mavericks vs. Alcoa Tornadoes + How To Watch

The Anderson County Mavericks will face off against the Alcoa Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Anderson County got the win against South-Doyle by a conclusive 49-27. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Cherokees: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, while Alcoa put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Carter. The Tornadoes simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Green Hornets 42-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tornadoes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Green Hornets are ranked 115th).

One reason for the win was Alcoa's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Cade Stinnett was especially locked on to Carter's QB and sacked him 3.5 times.

Anderson County's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Alcoa, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
