Basketball Preview: Concord Spiders vs. South Rowan Raiders
Concord is 10-0 against the Raiders since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Concord Spiders are on the road again and plays the South Rowan Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Concord earned a 70-57 win over the Falcons.
Concord can attribute much of their success to Jaden Reid, who scored 20 points, and Jeremiah Howard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reid has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyzen Coleman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to South Rowan, who are still winless after their 19th contest. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 63-62 to East Rowan.
Concord has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for South Rowan, their defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19.
Everything came up roses for Concord against the Raiders in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 85-39 win. With Concord ahead 47-23 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
