Softball Recap: Santa Barbara Dons vs. San Marcos Royals

Santa Barbara had lost nine straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-18 to make it ten. They lost 15-2 to the San Marcos Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Monday.

As for San Marcos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For San Marcos' part, the team relied heavily on Solana Sandoval, who went 4-for-6 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Sandoval a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isa Malarkey, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Santa Barbara will take on Hueneme at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for San Marcos, they will challenge Sutter at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
