Baseball Game Preview: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. Franklinton Red Rams

The Nash Central Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Franklinton Red Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Nash Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Nash Central made easy work of Franklinton and carried off an 8-2 win. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Caleb Cox tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Tyler Bowen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Bowen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Avery Flowers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Franklinton moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Nash Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nash Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklinton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
