Olympian-Packerland - Small recap Sept. 26, 2012

Hilbert extended the longest winning streak in Olympian-Packerland - Small this week by beating Sevastopol, 65-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Hilbert made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,334 from 3,043. The improvement came about via a 65-8 victory over the Pioneers last week.

Spencer Schulz put up the best numbers through the air as Matt Kuhn 's team bested Sevastopol. He finished with one completions for 37 yards and one touchdown. Schulz's favorite target this week was Adam Mader, who caught one pass for 37 yards.

Cody Shamburek was the best wideout in the league this week as Reedsville lost to Manitowoc Lutheran. Shamburek tallied five receptions for 109 yards.

Brock Gilsdorf provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Panthers fell to the Lancers. He completed five passes for 109 yards and also ran for 78 yards.

Willie Franke was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on eight carries as Gibraltar lost to Manitowoc Lutheran. Austin Kissel also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.

Sevastopol's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Noel Farber has thrown for 595 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Bryce Birmingham has nine catches for 235 yards. Cody Giesseman leads the league in rushing with 442 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jim Carolfi/ Dave Uhlhorn's team takes on St. Mary Central. The Lancers are in second place, while the Zephyrs are in fourth place.
