Baseball Game Preview: Oroville Tigers vs. Corning Cardinals

Oroville is 1-9 against Corning since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Oroville will be strutting in after a win while Corning will be coming in after a defeat.

Oroville took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Live Oak. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Izaya Keck was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Meanwhile, Corning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-0 to Orland.

Corning's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Oroville, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-13.

Oroville suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Corning when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
