Basketball Game Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Summit Tigers

D'Evelyn is 4-0 against Summit since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Both will face off at 12:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. D'Evelyn is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

D'Evelyn is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Thomas Jefferson: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that D'Evelyn blew Thomas Jefferson out of the water with a 75-44 final score. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 25 points or more this season.

D'Evelyn found their leader in sophomore Colleen Monahan, who went 10 of 16 on her way to 25 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monahan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie McMann, who posted 15 points along with five assists and five steals.

D'Evelyn was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Summit duked it out withLittleton on Friday. Summit walked away with a 32-19 win over Littleton. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Lions are ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

D'Evelyn pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.9 points. As for Summit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for D'Evelyn against Summit when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Summit's Kenya Rodriguez, who went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
