Baseball Game Preview: Bushland Falcons vs. Childress Bobcats

Bushland is 9-1 against Childress since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Bushland put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 34-2 margin over River Road. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Lincoln Krause was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Askins, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Bushland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .712. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Childress didn't have quite enough to beat Dalhart on Friday and fell 14-13.

Bushland is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Childress, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1.

Bushland was able to grind out a solid victory over Childress in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 12-8. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
