Baseball Recap: Williamson Warriors vs. Mansfield Tigers
Williamson extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 15-1 to the Mansfield Tigers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 12, 2021, but that streak is no more.
Williamson got a good showing from Maddox Hartman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hartman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Williamson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Tubbs, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
As for Mansfield, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6. Considering they have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Mansfield's side, Alex Davis was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Davis has posted since back in April. Jason Harer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Looking ahead, Williamson will venture away from home to challenge Oswayo Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Green Wave have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Mansfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
