Softball Recap: Calipatria Comes Up Short

After flying high against Julian on Friday, Calipatria came back down to earth. The Hornets lost 18-12 to the Warner Wildcats on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-6 back in March.

Calipatria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Warner, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Coming up, Calipatria will challenge Borrego Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. Warner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
