Baseball Game Preview: Stevensville Yellowjackets vs. Corvallis Blue Devils

The Stevensville Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Corvallis Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Stevensville and six for Corvallis.

Stevensville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Hamilton, who was ranked seventh at the time (Stevensville was ranked 17th). The Yellowjackets came up short against the Broncs on Tuesday, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Corvallis lost 11-1 to Florence-Carlton on Thursday.

Corvallis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Hixon, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Hixon has brought in this season.

Stevensville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Corvallis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Stevensville skirted past Corvallis 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
