Football Recap: Aspen Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aspen lost against Summit back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Skiers fell 19-12 to the Tigers. The Skiers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Aspen still got an impressive performance from Dylan Mika, who rushed for 157 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown. Mika's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Summit found their leader in sophomore Connor Erwin, who picked up 173 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 59 yards on only eight carries. Elias Wyatt was another key player, throwing for 267 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Aspen now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Summit, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Aspen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-19 loss against Kent Denver on the 26th. As for Summit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 65-6 defeat against Steamboat Springs on the 26th.
