East Duplin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-20 victory over North Johnston. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.

East Duplin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Hall, who rushed for 162 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Those 162 rushing yards gave Hall a new career-high. Keeshon McKinnie was in the mix too, providing East Duplin with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Duplin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 380 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

East Duplin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of McKinnie and Dwayne Davis. Another thorn in North Johnston's side was Ayden Lane, who made 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when SouthWest Edgecombe challenged Bunn on Friday. The Cougars snuck past the Wildcats with a 29-24 win.

East Duplin better keep an eye on Andre Downey Jr. He was instrumental in SouthWest Edgecombe's win, rushing for 182 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. Downey Jr also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Cougars are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 4-5 otherwise.

East Duplin's record is now 9-2. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, their record now sits at 7-5.
