Softball Recap: Summit Academy Takes a Loss

Summit Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Provo Bulldogs, falling 17-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 24-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jerilyn Blackham was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Summit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Provo, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Academy will host American Leadership Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Provo, they and Green Canyon will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Provo's pitchers better be ready for this one: Green Canyon has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
