Softball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short

Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Redmond Panthers, falling 19-0. If the Storm were looking for revenge after losing 19-13 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Redmond, they moved to 3-9 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coming up, Summit will face off against Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season. As for Redmond, they will square off against Crook County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.31 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
