It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brighton can now relate to. They fell 7-3 to the Spanish Fork Dons on Saturday. The Bengals' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Case Beames was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brighton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Scott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 28-4. As for Spanish Fork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-17 record this season.

While Brighton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
