Softball Recap: WestSide Comes Up Short

WestSide was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Liberty Raiders, falling 11-3. The Renegades were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

WestSide saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shay Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Bailey hit this season.

WestSide's record is now 1-3. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

WestSide will square off against Van at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something the Renegades will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty, they will face off against Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
