Preview: Niobrara County Tigers vs. Pine Bluffs Hornets
Niobrara County is 1-9 against Pine Bluffs since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Niobrara County Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Pine Bluffs Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Niobrara County is ranked 23rd, while Pine Bluffs is ranked 42nd).
After a string of six wins, Niobrara County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southeast. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Niobrara County has scored all season.
Pine Bluffs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over Burns on Saturday.
Niobrara County's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Pine Bluffs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Niobrara County came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Bluffs in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 42-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Niobrara County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
