Soccer Game Preview: Shorewood vs. Meadowdale

The Shorewood Stormrays will take on the Meadowdale Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meadowdale took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shorewood, who comes in off a win.

Shorewood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Archbishop Murphy, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Shorewood was ranked tenth). The Stormrays had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Shorewood sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kai Ayers and Matthew Bereket scored both of Shorewood's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Meadowdale fell victim to Edmonds-Woodway and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for Meadowdale in their meetings with Edmonds-Woodway: they've now lost five in a row.

Meadowdale's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Shorewood, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-1.

Shorewood beat Meadowdale 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Stormrays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
