Preview: Prairie Pirates vs. Logos Knights Crest

Prairie has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Logos Knights Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, Prairie was fully in charge, breezing past Clearwater Valley 46-8 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Prairie just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prairie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Behler, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Dylan Uhlenkott and his 173 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Prairie's victory.

Meanwhile, Logos put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 66-18 win over Troy on the road. Given Logos' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Troy is ranked 34th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jack Driskill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 337 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Driskill is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lucius Comis, who picked up 130 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Prairie's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Genesee and 1-6 Clearwater Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 21.4% over those games). As for Logos, their victory on Thursday bumped their record up to 7-0.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Prairie has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 251.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Logos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 223.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Everything came up roses for Prairie against Logos when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 48-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prairie since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
