West De Pere lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Xavier, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Phantoms were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Hawks on Thursday. The game was the first time the Phantoms have beaten the Hawks on their field since April 19, 2022.

The win made it two in a row for West De Pere and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Xavier, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-8.
