Baseball Recap: Prairie Heights Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Prairie Heights nor Central Noble made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cougars. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Braydon Duke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, Prairie Heights saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lakyn Duke, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI was Duke's first of the season.

Prairie Heights' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Central Noble, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
