Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Cypress Creek suffered their closest loss since February 13th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Memorial Mustangs by a score of 9-7. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Kamryn Lincoln was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Lincoln was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Brianna Arevalo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mia Arenas, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Cypress Creek's record is now 10-13-1. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Cypress Creek will head out to take on Cy-Fair at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Memorial, they will be playing at home against Northbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.85 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
