Baseball Recap: Delaware Valley Comes Up Short

Delaware Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 11-6 to the Abington Heights Comets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Trey Newton and Liam Onofry did some serious damage despite the final result: Newton went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Onofry went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Newton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Wallace, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Delaware Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Abington Heights, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delaware Valley will square off against East Stroudsburg South at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Abington Heights, they will face off against North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
