North Salinas is 8-2 against North Monterey County since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Condors at 6:00 p.m. North Salinas has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while North Monterey County will come in with five straight victories.

North Salinas came up short against Pajaro Valley on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

North Salinas was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.

Meanwhile, North Monterey County hadn't done well against Seaside recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Condors came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 3-1.

North Monterey County walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-8, 25-20.

North Salinas' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for North Monterey County, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-8.

North Salinas skirted past North Monterey County 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Condors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
