League recap: Mendocino extends winning streak with victory over Point Arena

North Central III (8 Man) recap November 5, 2013

Mendocino added to the longest winning streak in North Central III (8 Man) this week by beating Point Arena, 56-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Cardinals.

Laytonville lost to Anderson Valley 62-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Rincon Valley Christian's Daniel Maples and Morgan Guiesponi led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Maples has thrown for 1,095 yards this season, while Guiesponi has 32 catches for 643 yards. Cody Cissna from the Pirates leads the league in rushing with 1,124 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Mendocino takes on Point Arena. As it stands, the Cardinals are in first, while Tom Iliffe's team is in third.

There should be lots of points scored when Mendocino and the Pirates face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cardinals comes in having scored 392 this season, while Point Arena has scored 282. Mendocino scored 56 points last week as it topped the Pirates.

The Panthers led North Central III (8 Man) in scoring this week by notching 62 points on the Warriors.
