Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies vs. Argos Dragons

The Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies and the Argos Dragons will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Plymouth got the win against Mishawaka by a conclusive 61-39. The Pilgrims/Rockies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Argos can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They escaped with a win against Bethany Christian by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

Plymouth better keep an eye on Luke Stults. He was instrumental in Argos' win, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Stults has scored at least a third of Argos' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Calhoun, who posted four points and five boards.

Plymouth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Argos, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Plymouth couldn't quite finish off Argos in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 and fell 52-50. Can Plymouth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
