Preview: Herreid/Selby Wolverines vs. Stanley County Buffalos
The Herreid/Selby Wolverines are on the road again on Friday and play against the Stanley County Buffalos at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Herreid/Selby, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-47 loss to Timber Lake. Herreid/Selby has not had much luck with Timber Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Stanley County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Jones County by a score of 82-79. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Herreid/Selby's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Stanley County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Herreid/Selby took their victory against Stanley County in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 63-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Herreid/Selby since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
