Softball Recap: Princeton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mount View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Mount View Golden Knights on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Hayden Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks.

At the plate, Princeton let Zoey Agnew and Abby Farley run wild. Agnew scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Farley went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Agnew snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shy Richardson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The victory snapped Princeton's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-6 record. As for Mount View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Princeton has already played their next match (against Bluefield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mount View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-2 win against Twin Valley on the 5th.
