Baseball Recap: Williams Valley Comes Up Short

Williams Valley couldn't beat Schuylkill Haven on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Vikings lost 18-8 to the Hurricanes. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost six in a row.

Williams Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fletcher Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Another was Peyton Adams, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Williams Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Schuylkill Haven, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Williams Valley will square off against Mahanoy Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Golden Bears at the right time seeing as the Golden Bears are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Schuylkill Haven, they will face off against Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
