Softball Recap: Juniata Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Juniata Valley took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mount Union, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Juniata Valley had just enough and edged out Mount Union 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Bethany Devore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chassity Houck, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Juniata Valley's record now sits at 3-1. As for Mount Union, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juniata Valley will take on Moshannon Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Union, they will face off against Penns Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
