Volleyball Game Preview: Aquinas Blugolds vs. Tomah Timberwolves + Official Tickets

Aquinas is a perfect 10-0 against Tomah since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Blugolds will look to defend their home court against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Tomah took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Aquinas, who comes in off a win.

Aquinas won the last time they faced La Crosse Central and Aubrey Coyne did her part to make sure it happened again. The Blugolds put the hurt on the Riverhawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday for which the team can thank Coyne, who had 18 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

While Aquinas won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Tomah and Sparta had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Timberwolves lost 3-0 to the Spartans on Tuesday.

While Tomah was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-22.

Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season. As for Tomah, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-16.

Aquinas took their win against Tomah when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Blugolds repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
