Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. Wekiva Mustangs

Lake Buena Vista is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will head out to take on the Wekiva Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Lake Buena Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Windermere and fell 3-2. The Vipers have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Lake Buena Vista took Windermere into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 27-29, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Wekiva came up short against Dr. Phillips on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Wekiva had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.

Lake Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Wekiva, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything went Lake Buena Vista's way against Wekiva in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lake Buena Vista made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Vipers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
