Volleyball Recap: North Kansas City Comes Up Short

If North Kansas City was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Grandview on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Indians on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16.

Jayson Gudiel paced North Kansas City's offense, picking up 14 kills. Gudiel got some help from Kenny Hess and his 19 assists. Finally, Jaden Scott kept North Kansas City's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

North Kansas City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-2. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Kansas City will host Oak Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Northmen will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
